Plastic Creations takes
pride in creating attractive, efficient and useful web sites, especially
for small businesses.
the process of web design . . . 1. FREE Initial Consultation Before everything else, you will likely need to know about our capabilities, and about the range of solutions applicable to your case. We will be happy to discuss your specific needs and requirements, and answer questions about our experiences and expertise in a no-obligation, free initial meeting. In this meeting, you will sufficient information to decide whether you wish to proceed to the next stage -- the Estimate. 2. Estimate Preparation Should you choose to proceed after the free, initial consultation, we will acquire additional information from you, usually by email and telephone, and prepare a written Estimate for the potential web site. If you proceed to sign an Agreement with us (see below), there is no cost to you for the preparation of the estimate. However, if a client chooses to abandon a project after the estimate is prepared, there will be a minimum charge of $59 for the preparation of the estimate, that will become due immediately. This is only a typical charge, and may be be higher for the larger or more complicated web site estimates. 3. Signing of Agreement Along with the cost estimate, we will prepare a customized contract, including a proposed outline of the planned web site, describing its various features, elements, and capabilities. At the time of the signing of the Agreement, one-third of the the total estimated cost will be due. 4. Content Gathering A certain amount of text and graphic content must be made available to us before significant work can begin on the web site. We will prepare a Content Checklist for you to help you in gathering the text, logo, graphics, and photographs needed for the site. Please understand that a web site project will require involvement on your part. 5. Design of Site Structure During the time you spend collecting content material, we will finalize detailed plans for structure of the site (the way information is arranged) and the navigation scheme (that is how the hyperlinks will be organized to let the viewer move from one section of the site to another). 6. Page Layout Design The layout design (that is, the design of the visual arrangement of the text and images on the web pages) moves forward after a significant amount of content (text material) for the site has been collected. The site's Home Page (or the main page) is typically addressed at the outset. We will initially design a "mockup" (or draft) based on the preferences and the requirements stated by you and the contents provided to us. This draft web site will be made available for your viewing at a secure location on our web site that you will be able to access with the use of a userid and password, which we will give you. The purpose of this is to (1) give you a feel for how the site will look online, (2) obtain your feedback, (3) discuss the preparation of a second draft. The second draft is similarly analyzed and additional changes are made. These changes are expected to produce a final draft. If the secondary pages (or the inner pages) are given a different thematic look, the same process of refining is used for them. A second payment of one-third of the estimated total is due at a point estimated by us t be the halfway point of the project. 7. Database Design and Dynamic Pages If the web site involves the use of databases and dynamic web pages, the process of coding for that work begins at this time. 8. Coding of Actual Pages The rest of the web site will now be prepared from the look and feel of the approved pages. For the remaining pages, appropriate text and graphics are inserted at the proper locations. The web site is checked for any "rough edges" in design, consistency and navigation. 9. Final Site Testing The site is thoroughly tested. The actual pages are uploaded for the client to review for any minor changes or corrections. We will test the pages on different browsers, platforms and window settings. At this time, the final payment is due. This includes the third installment the initial estimated cost, plus any revisions due to added features, extra consultation time, upgrades and revisions in hosting arrangements, if any. 10. Site Launch Upon receipt of the final installment, the site is uploaded to its
own domain.
